Committed to: making a positive impact, inspiring others, taking on challenges, and growing into better leaders together... both locally and globally.

2024-2025 student roster is HERE

What is GL?

Global Leadership is a year-long elective class centered on building leaders locally and globally. The purpose of this elective is to help bring out the best in ourselves so that we can bring out the best in our school, community, and world.  We will partner with EF to travel to Central America, typically Costa Rica. Students will engage in service learning, gather culture experiences that foster an authentic worldview, and develop an understanding of leadership in the 21st century. The four-quarter curriculum includes leadership development, a global connection & awareness, service, and personal growth.

GL Cans Around the Oval Collection

C.A.N.S. Around the Oval:

In partnership with CSU, Global Leadership students run Kinard’s C.A.N.S. Around the Oval campaign.  Students work in small groups to:

  • develop a competition or incentive plan

  • find donations from local businesses for competition winners

  • communicate with school leadership and the parent community

  • advertise the campaign and competition

  • collect donations and calculate competition standings.

Kinard is frequently the among the top PSD schools contributing to this effort which benefits the Larimer County Food Bank!

Hal Kinard Visits to Speak with GL Class

Our school namesake, Hal Kinard, has often visited GL to teach an entertaining class full of stories and advice from his many years of leadership as an educator, coach, and mentor.  Mr. Kinard's advice includes "Be kind, stay humble, and never forget where you came from and who raised you."

“Traveling to Costa Rica with Kinard Global Leadership was hands-down the best ten days of my life.  This class was an invaluable part of my education.”

Sebastian, GL Class of 2017-2018
